FAQs - Envirosafe
How does the trap work?
Envirosafe Fly and Wasp Traps are the perfect option for summer pest control – utilising food-grade and non-toxic ingredients, they are highly effective at attracting wasps and flies while being safe to use around pets and family. The traps use a special design that will let the pests in but not let them escape, keeping flies out of the house without the use of harmful chemicals and pesticides.
To set up the trap, pour the bait into the trap container, add half a cup (125mls) of warm water, and mix. Once full or over 3 weeks old, empty container contents and replace sachet.
What range do Envirosafe traps cover?
Envirosafe traps cover a range of 300m2 (only one needed per standard backyard) and will be effective for 2-3 weeks minimum from deployment (or until the trap is full).
Envirosafe fly traps are best placed near where you might expect flies (like compost or rubbish bins). Wasp traps are best placed high up and easy for the wasps to locate, and close to where you may have seen them previously.
Tips for trap setup and maintenance
To ensure safe disposal, it’s best to empty the trap in the morning before wasps are usually active.
The trap contents can be placed in your compost bin. If you don’t have a compost bin, excess water in the trap will need to be drained and then the contents can be placed in your green Council bin.
While Envirosafe traps are made from UV stabilised plastic (meaning the container won’t melt in exposed sunlight) it's best to keep them out of direct sunlight to avoid the trap drying out.
Why use Envirosafe over other fly trap options?
It's safe - unlike common fly sprays, you won’t be breathing in any potentially harmful chemicals or have to worry about dead insects littering your home.
It's simple - you don’t need batteries or a power source to use an Envirosafe trap, meaning it can be set up anywhere effortlessly.
